We don't have a offset program or a recycled-poly capsule collection. What we have is a simple bet: a shirt that lasts eight years beats three shirts that last one, no matter how either one is made.
Heavier fabric, longer life
Most tees are 4–5oz and start pilling and going see-through within a year, which is what keeps them landfill-bound and you back at the checkout. We start at 6.5oz and go up to 7.2oz for a reason: heavier combed cotton resists exactly that. A shirt that's still in rotation five years from now never had to be replaced, shipped, or thrown out.
Fixed, not replaced
Every Mercantile tee carries a lifetime repair guarantee. A blown seam or a worn collar goes back to us, not in the trash. Keeping a garment in use is the single biggest lever we have — more than any fiber choice or shipping method.
Small batches, cut close to home
Every run is cut, garment-dyed, and finished within a few miles of where it started, in small enough batches that nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be marked down or landfilled as deadstock. We'd rather sell out of a color than overproduce it.
